Curriculum

Being a CBSE affiliated school, Highland follows the CBSE curriculum and prescribes NCERT books for classroom teaching. Only subjects/classes for which NCERT books are unavailable, other books are prescribed.

Highland believes school is a nurturing ground for children. In order to achieve this goal, experienced teachers follow an active child-centred curriculum and provide individualized attention to each child.

Our curriculum comprises of not only the formal programme of lessons but also the informal programme of extra-curricular activities. The school promotes positive attitudes to learning, quality of relationships, care and respect for the environment, self discipline and concern for the equality of opportunities. Last but not the least, there will be constant positive acknowledgement of effort as well as achievement.

In the early years, the foundation curriculum is planned from the six areas of learning:

  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Personal and social development
  • Physical development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Analytical development
  • Respect and understanding of environment and nature
